This guide should be used as a starting point when looking for scholarships and other financial aid to defray the costs of studying abroad. It is not, however, a comprehensive list of all available scholarships. Students are encouraged to search on their own for additional sources funding and to check the eligibility requirements and submission deadlines for all scholarships.

National Scholarships
The Alliance Project Scholarship: awards scholarships to students who conduct research or pursue cultural studies abroad.
beGirl.World Scholarship: This scholarship is for black female-identifying college students looking to study abroad.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship: for Pell Grant recipients. Award amounts can be up to $5,000 (with the opportunity to receive the supplemental Critical Need Language Award of up to $3,000 and/or the STEM Supplemental Award of up to $1,000).
Boren Awards: Fund study abroad by U.S. undergraduate students in world regions critical to U.S. interests.
Diversity Abroad Overseas Ambassador Scholarship: Economically disadvantaged students, first-generation, students with disabilities and ethnic and racially diverse students are strongly encouraged to apply.
DIWC (Diverse International Women of Color) Scholarship: Diverse International Women of Color’s mission is to inspire, encourage and promote opportunities for women of color to travel abroad, experience different cultures and broaden their horizons beyond the United States.

BUTEX (The British Universities Transatlantic Exchange Association): Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for a semester or a whole academic year, and students undertaking a summer school programme, overseas work/internship/traineeship placement of varying lengths of time
