As a media & communication major, you’ll start flexing your creative muscles as soon as you enter the program.

Digital Cultures Media Assistant Tony Dalton demonstrates skills in video production to a class outside of Walson Hall.

Students enjoy access to state-of-the-art production equipment including professional-quality digital video cameras, omnidirectional microphones, lighting kits, tripod systems and other production accessories.

Other hands-on learning opportunities include internships, service learning in the local community or a semester abroad in Ireland at Dublin City University. Some students join the department’s Honors Program; they complete an independent research project and engage in an oral defense of that thesis with a faculty committee during their senior year.

No matter your area of focus, you’ll be taught by expert faculty who are leaders in their fields. They’ll guide you to critically and ethically consume and produce media while exploring collaborations with programs such as film studies, dance, theatre, business, English, creative writing, psychology and more.
