Katherine Conlon, Class of 2024, performs Elizabeth Lehmann's (1862-1918) "There are Fairies at the Bottom of our Garden." In this Liza Lehmann piece, a little girl divulges into the details about a group of fairies that inhabit the garden behind her home. As the song carries on, she reveals her relation to these mystical creatures in a joyful and vibrant conclusion.

A six-voice women's ensemble breaking down into various groups doing virtual performances of the great Joni Mitchell's compositions. Featured are the following:

Ensembles Participating in the Celebration of Women Composers
The Chamber Orchestra is creating a virtual performance of “American Statue,”
composed by Sarah Davol.
The Collegium musicum has selected repertoire for the fall semester that includes works by Francesca Caccini Madalena Casulana, Lady Mary Dering, Juana Inés de la Cruz, Barbara Strozzi, and Lucretia Orsina Vizana.
December 2020 - The choirs have chosen selections for this year's Candlelight Carols from only women composers. Throughout the semester, we have addressed issues surrounding women in the field of composition and discussed the history of women in classical music and the role choirs can play in taking greater steps toward equality.
The Jazz Big Band is creating virtual performances of “The Homeland” an original unrecorded work by Anita Brown and "now Baby or Never," arranged by Anita Brown.
