How can I connect with a current student to ask questions?
Our current students would love to answer your questions. Go “Meet a Mule” on our Visit Page. We also strongly encourage you to join us on campus for an admitted student event to meet students in person as well as faculty and staff.
How can I connect with faculty and staff?
Please reach out to the admissions team—we would be glad to connect you with a faculty member in your academic area of interest. We also strongly encourage you to join us on campus for an admitted student event to meet faculty in person and learn more about various campus resources and offices.
What is Allentown like? What is in the area?
Allentown is Pennsylvania’s third-largest and fastest-growing city. It is home to three historic districts, diverse dining options and one of the best park systems in the United States. Our students take advantage of our ideal location, situated between New York City and Philadelphia. Check out our community and all that the surrounding area has to offer.
Can First-Year Students have a car on-campus?
We want first-year students to fully immerse themselves in their first-year experience and so it is the College’s current policy that first-year students are not allowed cars on campus. Rides on LANTA, the area’s bus service, are free to Muhlenberg Students and allows them access to shopping, dining and entertainment. If you have an extenuating circumstance, you may submit a request to have a car on campus, directly to Allison Williams, vice president for student affairs and dean of students, at [email protected].
Can I get credit for AP and IB tests?
Yes. The College will offer course credit for some AP and IB scores. For specific details regarding particular AP exams and their corresponding score requirements, please see our AP test score policy. For specific details regarding IB exams, please see our IB test score policy.
What is the College’s Deferral Policy?
- Students who have already submitted their enrollment confirmation and deposit for Fall 2024 can request a deferral of attendance to Fall 2025. Students who defer their attendance cannot be a full-time, degree-seeking (matriculated) student at another college or university in the United States or abroad during their deferral period.
- To request a deferral, please submit a Deferral Request Form using your Application Status Portal login credentials. You will receive a response via email within 5-7 business days.
- The deadline to request a deferral is June 30, 2024.
- If a student is granted a deferral and they have been awarded need-based financial aid for the original entry term, they will need to submit a new FAFSA and supporting financial documents for the entry term that they will be attending after their deferral. If a student has been awarded merit-based scholarships, these awards will carry over to the student’s entry term following their deferral.
- Deferrals are granted for a maximum of one year.
What are admissions requirements for final transcripts and verified test scores?
- Ask your high school counselor to send your final high school transcript with your graduation date when it becomes available. Your offer of admission is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of your secondary school work. We reserve the right to rescind an admission offer if we are made aware of dishonesty in your application or any other information that we believe would interfere with your ability to be a positive contributor and member of the Muhlenberg community.
- If you originally submitted self-reported test scores as part of your application and you have committed to attending Muhlenberg, you may send verified test scores in the following ways:
- Once logged into your testing portal (SAT or ACT), take a screenshot of all test scores.
- Request that your high school counselor send your test scores. They may send this to [email protected]
- Send scores from the test agency directly (Muhlenberg “superscores” the SAT and the ACT, so please send all of your test scores.)
