As a result of gifts, we are able to provide emergency grant opportunities for students. This grant is need-based and when applications are submitted, student's financial need is vetted with the Office of Financial Aid. We encourage students to complete this application as thoroughly and timely as possible. Your application will go directly to the Dean of Students and will be reviewed by a committee to award grants.

Emergency Grant
Emergency Grants – Students who meet the criteria listed below may qualify for a one-time grant to cover urgent, non-academic expenses:
- Receive need-based aid per financial aid regulations (according to federal, state, and/or institutional based funds),
- Have taken full advantage of their Federal Direct Student Loans, AND
- Are experiencing a financial hardship and/or emergency
Eligible expenses include emergency travel, unexpected medical costs, and immediate needs for essential personal or technological* items. This funding does not cover tuition, books, course-related supplies, study abroad, or MILA expenses. The application provides detailed information and eligibility requirements.
A few examples of expenses not covered by this grant:
- Tuition, books or other expected academic expenses, such as lab fees or codes for online textbooks
- Costs for entertainment or non-emergency travel
- Study abroad or related fees
- Standardized testing and application fees
- Residence hall fees
- Meal plans
- Membership and organizational dues
*Note: If you need a computer for long-term use and cannot afford one due to financial hardship, you may apply for an Emergency Grant. If approved, you will receive an HP laptop selected by our office to meet student needs. The laptop can be serviced through the Office of Information Technology on campus.
