Dr. Chris Borick awarded by CUPRAP
Dr. Chrisopher Borick, associate professor of political science and director of the Institute of Public Opinion at Muhlenberg College, has been awarded the Arthur V. Ciervo Award by the College and University Public Relations Association of Pennsylvania (CUPRAP).Monday, March 14, 2011 11:45 AM
The award is given every year to an individual “who exemplifies the organization’s fundamental purpose of advancing the understanding of higher education in Pennsylvania and across the country.”
Dr. Borick will be given the award at CUPRAP’s annual spring conference at the Hotel Hershey at noon on Thursday, March 17. It will be presented at a luncheon, followed by 10 minutes of remarks by the professor. Many distinguished persons have won the award before Dr. Borick, including former Governor Mark S. Schweiker and former U.S. Congressman William F. Goodling.
Borick received his Ph.D. from SUNY Binghamton. Previously, he held positions with the Internal Revenue Service and Monroe County Pennsylvania Planning Commission. Borick has published and presented over twenty articles in the area of public policy and public opinion. His previous awards include the Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2006.
CUPRAP is a voluntary organization of communications professionals from colleges, universities and independent schools dedicated to advancing the understanding of higher education and enhancing the professional development of its members. CUPRAP members work in public relations, media relations, marketing, publications, sports information, web and graphic design, and more. Members come from private and public colleges and universities, junior colleges, community colleges, independent schools, as well as other organizations involved in higher education. Founded in Pennsylvania in 1980 as one of the nations few statewide organizations, CUPRAP members now come from many states. Today, CUPRAP has nearly 400 members from 100 institutions.
