Thomas B. Edsall to Speak on 2012 Election

Edsall currently holds the Joseph Pulitzer II and Edith Pulitzer Moore Chair at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. He spent twenty-five years covering national politics at the Washington Post, and from 2007 to 2009, was the political editor of the Huffington Post. He currently writes an online election-year column for the New York Times, and is a correspondent for The New Republic. Edsall is author of five books, including The Age of Austerity, Building Red America and Chain Reaction: The Impact of Race, Rights, and Taxes on American Politics. He has also written extensively for magazines and frequently contributes television and radio commentary to CNN, FOX, NPR and more. Edsall attended Brown University and received his B.A. from Boston University.
The series “Democracy and the 2012 Election” is the fifth nonpartisan election series coordinated by Muhlenberg’s department of political science since 1992. The goal of the series is to offer the Muhlenberg and wider community an opportunity to examine critical issues linked to the 2012 presidential election. The series is being co-sponsored and supported by a number of other departments on campus.
