Dr. Lance R. Bruck ’89 Named Chair of Muhlenberg College Board of Trustees
Bruck, who has served the Board for more than a decade, begins the role on July 1.

On Saturday, April 30, the Muhlenberg College Board of Trustees voted on the appointment of Dr. Lance Bruck ’89 to serve as its next Chair, effective July 1, 2022. Bruck will succeed Richard C. Crist Jr. ’77 who served as Chair with distinction from 2013 through 2022 and will remain in service to the Board as immediate past chair for a one-year term.
Lance Bruck has served as a Muhlenberg College Trustee since 2011 and has served on numerous Board committees, including compensation; building, infrastructure, grounds and technology; educational policies & faculty affairs; nominations & governance and audit & compliance. He previously served on the Muhlenberg College Board of Observers from 2006-2011 and is a member of the College’s Lifetime Giving Society and Henry Melchior Muhlenberg Society. Bruck and Michal Katz are the parents of Ethan Bruck and Ella Bruck, a member of the Muhlenberg Class of 2021 and served as a Parents’ Council member from 2017-2021.
Bruck is the vice president and chair of obstetrics, gynecology & women’s health services at Jersey City Medical Center and oversees administrative, operational, clinical and educational activities related to women’s and children’s services. He directs Jersey City Medical Center’s residency and fellowship programs and also serves as a clinical professor at Rutgers University. Bruck previously served as a faculty member at New York Medical College, Columbia University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Bruck earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center and Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He served as a Galloway Fellow in gynecologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, New York. Bruck is a 1989 graduate of Muhlenberg College, where he earned degrees in biology and philosophy.
