The three-day event brought 20 senior diversity leaders from liberal arts colleges across the country to campus. The agenda included a panel focused on Muhlenberg’s implementation of restorative practices in its bias response protocol and beyond; several discussions and workshops related to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; and opportunities for attendees and members of the Muhlenberg community to meet and network.
“Having the opportunity to highlight some of the great work Muhlenberg is doing to realize our commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging was such a privilege,” says Chief Diversity Officer and Associate Provost for Equity and Inclusion Brooke Vick, who is also co-chair of LADO. “This group of professionals has been such a valuable source of information and professional development for me. It was a wonderful feeling to see them inspired by the work we're doing and taking ideas back to their campuses that we helped to shape.”
“Muhlenberg is proud to be a member of the LADO Consortium,” says President Kathleen Harring. “LADO is a unique resource for our small liberal arts colleges. It brings together diversity leaders from similar institutions to share strategies and accomplishments and work together to strengthen inclusive excellence across all our colleges. We were honored to host this group of dedicated higher education leaders on our campus.”
