Directed by Professor of Political Science Christopher Borick, the Institute is consistently named one of the top polling organizations in the country.
“It’s great to have the outstanding work of the staff of the Institute recognized,” Borick says. “At the heart of our efforts are the amazing contributions of a generation of Muhlenberg students who have built and maintained the quality research people have come to associate with us.”
The 538 ratings system is based on each polling firm’s track record in terms of accuracy and their transparency when it comes to their methodology. Only 10 pollsters earned higher scores than the MCIPO on the list of 539 pollsters. This is not the first time MCIPO has been top ranked by 538; it received an A+ rating in 2019 and 2020 (when scores were presented as letter grades).

MCIPO conducts research related to public opinion at the local, state and national levels. Since its founding in 2001, the MCIPO has focused its attention on measuring the public’s views on electoral and public policy issues with a concentration on environmental and health matters.
Last year, the MCIPO moved to its new space in The Fahy Commons for Public Engagement and Innovation.
