The 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, released today, have Muhlenberg ranked #71 out of 204 liberal arts colleges nationally.

Because so many institutions are tied on the list, there are only 29 ranking spots above Muhlenberg’s. Muhlenberg’s ranking puts it at #9 among Pennsylvania’s 19 liberal arts institutions, an especially strong competitive set.

Across all national liberal arts colleges, the College was ranked #59 in Best Value Schools and #61 in Undergraduate Teaching Programs. Muhlenberg also made the Best Undergraduate Psychology list, which ranks national institutions of all sizes.

Muhlenberg continues to be strong in its first-year retention rate (89%), graduation rate (80%) and Pell grant graduation rate (85%). Student outcomes measurements, including these, account for more than half of each institution’s ranking.
