Do I need to complete any health forms?
All new students must complete the following forms on the PyraMed Health Portal by July 1 (for fall semester start) or January 5 (for spring semester start):

How do I access the PyraMed Health Portal to complete my health forms?
To access the PyraMed Health Portal:
Refer to the “What You Need to Know about Technology @ Muhlenberg College” letter you received from Information Technology (in the Summer Advising packet mailing) to access the Application Portal.
If I had a physical exam in the past year, do I need another one?
The college requires a physical exam within 12 months prior to the first day of class.
If my physical exam is scheduled after July 1, what should I do?
You should still complete the following forms by July 1, regardless of your physical exam date:
You must email [email protected] with the date of your physical exam appointment.
When your physical exam is completed, scan the completed physical exam record onto your computer, log onto the PyraMed Health Portal, and upload it by using the “Document Upload” tab on the health portal.
If I need an air conditioner for medical reasons or have another special housing request for medical reasons, what should I do?
If you need central air conditioning or have another special housing request, please refer to the Special Housing Request Process. You will need to submit the special housing request form and medical documentation to the Office of Disability Services. You will be notified by the Office of Disability Services on the status of your request.
For requests to use window air conditioner units, please refer to the college’s Air Conditioner Policy. You will need to upload medical documentation through the PyraMed Health Portal to support your request for the use of a window AC unit to Health Services. You will be notified by Housing & Residence Life when your request to use a window air conditioner unit has been approved.
I received a Meninogococcal Quadrivalent vaccine (serogroup A, C, Y, W-135) before my 16th birthday. Do I need another?
Yes, the College requires one dose of the Meningococcal Quadrivalent vaccine on or after a student’s 16th birthday.
When is the Health Center open? What services are provided?
While classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters, Health Services is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Center is staffed by full-time registered nurses and a nurse practitioner, with physician services available during select hours daily. Health Services provides primary care services and refers students to appropriate specialists and outside health care facilities when appropriate.
How are health care services provided when Health Services is closed?
Students can contact Campus Safety (484-664-3110) year-round for emergencies. During fall and spring semesters while classes are in session. Muhlenberg College EMS is typically available by calling Campus Safety.
After hours, students may also speak with a nurse at the LVHN Nurse Triage line (835-215-5475) who can help connect them with the services they need.
Who may receive health care services and where is the Health Center located?
Health Services is located in the Life Sports Center, 1st floor. Services are offered to any full-time traditional Muhlenberg College student with a completed Muhlenberg College Health Form on file.
What if I need allergy injections or other special services?
Students receiving allergy injections may bring the serum and current schedules to Health Services where the serum will be stored and administered in accordance with the schedule provided by their physicians. Injections are administered only during the physician hours of Health Services.
How do students get to off-campus medical appointments?
Within the city limits of Allentown, transportation may be arranged for freshmen students by contacting the Health Center staff, who will then coordinate transportation through Campus Safety for off-campus appointments. The College requires transportation be scheduled at least 48 business hours in advance. Transportation is available Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
May a parent call Health Services?
A parent may always call Health Services to report his/her concerns or provide further information regarding a student. However, Health Services staff will not share health care information or office visits with a parent without the explicit permission of the student except in specific instances. The specific instances include life-threatening situations or when the student is a danger to self or a danger to others.
I am unable to login to the Health Portal. What should I do?
If you are unable to access the OneLogin Application portal, please contact the Office of Information Technology (484-664-3566).
If you are able to access OneLogin, but cannot access the Pyramed Health Portal, please contact Health Services ([email protected]).
Does the college have a student health insurance policy for major medical?
The College offers students an option to enroll in our college-sponsored student health insurance plan. A copy of the plan brochure and other information is available at www.RCMDstudentbenefits.com.
What is the primary focus of custom clinical care counseling?
What are the specifics of the customized care model?
If I choose remote counseling, what is expected of me during a remote session?
It is highly recommended that you find a distraction-free space.
Furthermore, it is expected that you give the session your full attention and avoid multitasking during the session. Headphones are often helpful, but it is important that you are aware of your surroundings to ensure the session is confidential.
Should I transition to a therapist in my local community?
Students are strongly advised to transition to a treatment provider in their community if they wish to engage in regular ongoing therapy. The Shrink Space is a referral website Muhlenberg College has partnered with to help students connect with off-campus mental health care providers. What are the discussion groups offered and how can I be a part of them?
